Al Asar Academy was founded in 2012, born from a simple but pressing need: an Islamic centre in the US was struggling to teach its children how to read the Quran due to a shortage of qualified teachers.
To solve this, we connected the community with quality Quran teachers in Pakistan through online learning, making expert instruction accessible regardless of location.
Today, that same mission has grown far beyond its original community. We now provide Islamic classes to students across the world.
Qari Aftab has over 6 years of experience teaching children how to read and recite the Quran. He also includes short Quranic stories in his classes to keep students interested and aware of the context behind verses.
Qari Imran is a fully qualified alim-e-din who has been teaching at Al Fajr since 2012. His students love him for his interactive, friendly approach, and he has a real gift for making lessons feel enjoyable rather than like hard work.
With over 7 years of experience, Farhat is highly skilled at teaching classes in English, which makes her a great fit for students who feel most comfortable learning that way. She offers lessons throughout the week, so it's easy to find a time that works around your schedule.
Teaching since 2019, Asma is an experienced and caring teacher who offers classes to female students both in Pakistan and across the globe. Wherever her students are based, she makes them feel comfortable and supported from the very first lesson.
Kulsoom has been with Al Fajr for 7 years and has guided dozens of students through to graduation. She believes in making lessons enjoyable through warmth and friendliness, and she always gives students context on the verses they study so the learning really sticks.
Teaching since 2012, Tatheer is one of the longest serving teachers at Al Fajr and offers classes throughout the week. That experience shows in how patient and reassuring she is with her students, whatever their level.
